(I couldn’t find a thread on /lit/ so I hope this description is sufficient)
I would like to submit this image for your consideration. I am not a graphic designer, so if someone better than me was able to create this same image but more crisp, then that would be fine. The image is simple: a blank white page displaying two lines of music, notated in A Major. The top staff displays a B minor chord (B-D-F#); the bottom, an Asus4 chord (A-D-E). The stems of the half notes from the top droop down, dissecting the notes on the bottom staff before continuing to the bottom of the page.
The meaning of the design is open for interpretation. I would hope the minimalist display evokes contemplation. The intent of displaying this message is to inspire musicians or the musically-inclined. I hope that some who may see it, granted your approval for inclusion, might experiment with these chords to explore the emotions and sensations that spring from these chords individually as well as from the progression of one chord into the other.
I personally prefer these chords to remain unlabeled and this image to be presented without any text, so as to reflect this idea of music being a universal, human language that does not need any particular alphabet to convey, thought I would understand should the editors decide to ease the reading of these two chords by including descriptions.
Thank you for your time. If I see a & thread on /lit/ I will post with various pictures of statues of Cicero.
